Baltimore Museum Opens It's Doors

The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) are opening their doors!! Well to a small group of up to eight people that is. You will be able to reserve a time slot to see a limited selection of exhibitions and galleries from February 6 (Saturday) through March 7 (Sunday). The group can see two exhibitions with a 90-minute window, these exhibitions opened in fall 2020 that will be closing in March. Exhibitions: A Perfect Power: Motherhood and African Art which will be closing March 7 and Stripes and Stars: Reclaiming Lakota Independence which will be closing March 28. Starting on February 17, your group can also see Stephanie Syjuco: Vanishing Point (Overlay), a three-part installation presented in the front of the building, upper East Lobby, and European Art galleries rotunda. Otherwise, the museum remains otherwise closed to the public. A reopening date has not yet been confirmed yet. 


 Reservations can be made online at artbma.org. Reservations for BMA Members start on February 1 can and the public beginning February 3 at artbma.org. Exhibitions will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and available appointment times will be 10 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:15 p.m. Now the BMA’s Sculpture Gardens, which need no reservation, will continue to be open Wednesdays through Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to sun set, if weather conditions are acceptable. Guest can also see SHAN Wallace: The Avenue, a new five-part mural by the Baltimore-based artist that is covering the fence on the west side of the building.


Masks and answers two questions about their exposure to COVID-19 are required before entering the museum. Guest who arrives without a mask will be provided one. Hand sanitizer stations are installed throughout the museum and signage on the floors and walls have been placed to help visitors maintain six feet of social distance and inform them of capacity limits in different areas.
